Isamu Noguchi Japan
1904: He was born in 1904
Born in Los Angeles, trained as a cabinetmaker in Japan
  He assisted Constantin Brancusi in his Paris atelier. His visionary set and costume designs for the New York City Ballet and the Martha Graham Company transposed mythological elements into abstract form to great effect. Noguchi developed products for Zenith, Steuben Glassworks and Vitra. In the 1980s, a museum of his work was established in Long Island City, New York.
1988: He died in 1988
