Master in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico of Milan in
1969 after which he worked for Kartell as technical manager
and Alfa Romeo Auto as consultant.
Later
on with Luceplan he became more engaged in design. He has designed
many lamps and won awards such as the Compasso d'Oro (1989)
and Createur de l'Année at the 1999 Salon du Meuble de
Paris (1999). He is a well-renouned furniture designer and works
for companies such as Alias, Vitra and Kartell. Meda runs his
own design studio in Milan and is also a lecturer at the Domus
Academy and the Politecnico of Milan. Meda is a master of using
innovative materials.
