Edra
Set up in 1987, Edra’s first collection was “I Nuovissimi”, where fledgling young designers presented their first mass-produced items at the Marconi Gallery in Milan.
Such an unconventional start was intended to show precisely how the company would aim to explore international creative potential.
Edra grew rapidly, even achieving yearly growth of 50%, but always following a very personal design-oriented path. The aptitude of talent scouts has allowed the company to bring together some of the most interesting new designers, such as Alessandro Mendini, Masanori Umeda from Japan, Francesco Binfaré, Fernando and Humbero Campana from Brazil, Ross Love grove from Wales, and some top architects, such as Zaha Hadid and the Australian studio Denton Corner and Marshall.
Flexible in its organization, Edra makes resourceful use of the skills of its local area to create innovative products, at times revolutionizing classic upholstered furniture. With every project, the company seeks to find the best solutions, even borrowing technology from other sectors.
